Kerato Limited is a North-East England based biotech company developing innovative bioengineered corneal tissue products for medical, commercial and research applications.

Our team includes world leading academic experts in tissue engineering with commercial operational expertise.

Kerato uses cells and collagen to produce corneas in the laboratory that are comparable to those of human donors. The Company has a dedicated commercial team and has recently appointed a Managing Director, Sarah Greenhalgh, to oversee the development of product offerings and the execution of the product and sales strategy.

Our parent company is BSF Enterprise, and, with our fellow portfolio companies including 3D Bio-Tissues, we are working to support their vision of unlocking the next generation of biotech solutions.

Miguel is a cell biologist with a long career in the eye field. Miguel spent more than twenty years studying the different signalling pathways.

Investment Partner

BSF Enterprise is building a portfolio of pioneering clinical and cellular agriculture companies, including 3D Bio-Tissues, Kerato, and Lab Grown Leather, with the ambition of unlocking the next generation of biotech solutions.

This goal is being achieved through an acquisition-led growth strategy to drive the development of lab-grown tissues. Cell-based tissue engineering can generate cultured meat, lab-grown leather, human corneas, collagen growth and skin substitutes.

3DBT are Kerato's ongoing R&D collaborator, and their their expertise in biosynthetic corneal tissue continues to support expansion of Kerato's portfolio of products and services.
